Summer Holidays

So for the past week and a bite I have been on holidays, in Spain (salou) with my family( all my family from my dad's side)
My granddad had planned to bring us all away for his 70th birthday and that's what he did!

For me and normal summer holiday is going to somewhere like Majorca and staying for 2 weeks, sunbathing, in the pool and go to the waterpark one of the days! But this year it was only a week in salou, sunbathing, in the pool, waterpark, theme park and the beach.. So we did a few things we don't normally do which made the holiday that even more special.

Each day we did something different

Friday- we arrived at the hotel and just spent the day laying around the pool
We were so tired after being up at 2:30am that we all just wanted to sleep! Then that night we went out to an irish bar that was close to the hotel(:

Saturday- because we had only spent a few hours at the pool on the Friday we decided to do the same on Saturday. We stayed at the pool, then shopped around a bit, went to a lovely restaurant and then we went back to the same irish bar (:
I took a picture of myself and with my family every single day because I'm working on something for the end of summer called "the summer round" but I'll talk about that later

Sunday- we headed off the the local beach, and if I'm honest I'm not the biggest fan of the beach for the simple reason, I hate sand sticking to me and then it's everywhere.. But I got over it and went and I'm so glad I did (:
We went on Padilos and a banana boat and spent ages in the sea! It just turned out to be an amazing day!
(It was like a small private beach)
Then that night we went out for dinner and ended up back in the hotel bar for the night (:

Monday- we choose to go the the waterpark on Monday and seems as it was June and not many people were off school, the place wasn't busy. We could just walk up to most slides and go down them without lining up, which was pretty good!
While 11 of us were at the waterpark my grandad and dad went off to Barcelona for a day trip there. It suited them better as they didn't really want to come to the waterpark. Then just before we left we went and saw a dolphin show. After seeing the movie "black fish" I hate seeing animal (like whales) all in cages and forced to do things, but I have to admite the dolphin show was really good and you could see how each owner treated their own dolphin and it was just amazing.

Tuesday- this was our One bad day of the holiday. We were supposed to go to port aventura but then it started to rain. We waited to see if it would pass but then it ended up being a thunder storm. So we were stuck in the hotel for the day, we just stayed in the bar playing card games, listening to music, messing around and then we went up to get ready for dinner early. Once we were ready for dinner the rain had stopped and we went out.
Me and my mam on Tuesday night

Wednesday- the rain had stopped and we choose to go to the theme park (port aventura)
It was like walking into a small Disneyland! There was so much to do. The lines were so long but we got on as much as we could. I can't remember the name of it, but my favourite roller coaster would have to be this one that was so fast and twists upside down. As much as it scared the crap out of me, it was so fun
We spent the whole day there and then when we got back to the hotel everyone just passed out from tiredness.

Thursday- it was our last full day at the hotel so we choose to stay at the hotel pool for the day. My cousin, sister and myself also found the indoor swimming pool which no one was in so we had a pool and Jacuzzi all to ourselves which was great fun.
Then that night was a special night for our grandad! We planned a surprise dinner party in one of the restaurants he loved and he really had no clue what was going on.
We surprised him in the end and he was so happy, I can't even put it in words (: then the man who worked at the restaurant sent us over to a bar across the road to have a few drinks
(the cousins and my grandparents) after that we all headed back to the hotel and spent the rest of the night in the bar there. I did sadly have a panic attack that night and had to go to the hotel room early that night.

Friday- that morning we had to be out of the hotel room by 10am, my mam and dad went down to sunbath that morning and came up at 10 to bring down the bags. Then we went out for lunch in this american style diner and once we got back from lunch it was around 1pm, the bus picked us up at 2:30pm, we checked in by 3pm and then our flight was at 5pm and then we got on the plane and headed home. I'm not a great flier. I just don't like the idea of a big metal object being shot across the sky.. But anyway the flight over was grand, on the way back there was turbulence but it wasn't too bad, everyone was asleep, my sister listened to music and my mam and myself just watched "the sitter"

So that was basically my holiday, in it's simplest form! Lots more happened within each of those days but I didn't want to go into all the details.
Over all it was a great holiday and I would love to do something like that again in the future (:

Last few days

So basically on Saturday and Sunday I was working for 8hours straight both days on my own.. It was the longest 2 days ever! The two guys I work with we're both off because they are doing their leaving cert this year and were on study leave but thankfully next week I'm only working 4 hours each day because one of the guys is back.

I really don't mind my job, it's easy enough, there is nothing complicated working there. The people who I work with and around are all really lovely and friendly, which makes it even nicer so I'm not complaining and plus it's some extra money over the summer.

On Friday I had a really good day, I went shopping with my little sister. You see we are going away with my dad's side of the family very soon and we needed to go shopping. Usually we go away mid July start of august time so we are used to having loads of time to get ready but this year seems as we are going the end of June we have no time :P

I didn't have any bikinis or anything! So we decided on Friday we would go shopping. We shopped for a good few hours, looking around, trying things on and buying everythingwe need. Also we would usually go shopping with my mam cause it's always something we have done but this time she was working so we were left to fend for ourselves :P

In the end I got some lovely summer tops, shorts, 2books, dress, makeup, bikini etc.. But I still have to get some more things like a bag for the plane, sweets, magazines, skirt, sun cream and shoes, but they shouldn't be much trouble trying to get.

I really can't wait to go on holidays with my dad's side of the family. My grandad had saved up with my nanny and they said they wanted to take us all away. I can't wait to spend time with all my cousins and aunts, uncles and grandparents. It's not like your normal summer holiday though were you go to relax in the sun, we are going for theme parks, waterparks and the sun (:

I have this terrible fear in theme parks but I'm the type of person who if I'm in a large group of people and they all want to go on something I will go with them because I don't want to be left out and I don't want to be a fear (so basically even though I'm scared I'm trying to face my fear)

Other then that I haven't done anything else. My mam and dad were working today so I was left at home minding my sister and then went to nandos (:

I'm planning to see 22 jump street tomorrow and then getting my nails done on Thursday and then hopefully I will get to see the fault in our stars very soon(;

DEBS

Well today was a very interesting yet great day I have to say. Today was the day myself and 4 other girls from my school got together to plan for a debs which will be next year in september. The debs is one of the biggest things people look forward to after they leave school and because my school is only new and we are the top year we have been left in changer to come with an amazing debs. So we got in touch with a group called "DEBs Ireland" and asked them if they could help us out.

They met up with us today and brought us around to 3 different venues that we could hold them in. each venue had the entrance, dining hall and nightclub included and each venue had different packages they could offer us

After going around and looking at each venue we had to pick one and the main one that stood out for us was Dunboyne Castle...

Then we had to decided on everything that we wanted.. There is a lot still to do. we knew there was going to be a lot to do but we forgot about the small simple things. we have to chose a theme ( we don't know whether to pick a Oscar theme or Masquerade theme.) we have to decide what will be on the menu, breakfast the next morning, DJ, how many people are coming, transport, awards, photographer, cameraman for the whole night, diary room, VIP area etc..

There is so much to do but we have only started and still have a full year to plan the whole thing. thats why we wanted to start planning it now because next year we have the leaving cert and we will be so focused on exams we will be too distracted to pay all the attention on the DEBs and we want it to be a good night.

If i'm honest I can not wait for my debs to come around, its going to be amazing.. the only things I worry about are.. who i'm gonna bring, what dress i'm going to wear, and what i'm going to do with my hair and makeup.. but as I said, I have a full year to try sort it all out so hopefully I will :)
