My granddad had planned to bring us all away for his 70th birthday and that's what he did!
For me and normal summer holiday is going to somewhere like Majorca and staying for 2 weeks, sunbathing, in the pool and go to the waterpark one of the days! But this year it was only a week in salou, sunbathing, in the pool, waterpark, theme park and the beach.. So we did a few things we don't normally do which made the holiday that even more special.
Each day we did something different
Friday- we arrived at the hotel and just spent the day laying around the pool
We were so tired after being up at 2:30am that we all just wanted to sleep! Then that night we went out to an irish bar that was close to the hotel(:
Saturday- because we had only spent a few hours at the pool on the Friday we decided to do the same on Saturday. We stayed at the pool, then shopped around a bit, went to a lovely restaurant and then we went back to the same irish bar (:
I took a picture of myself and with my family every single day because I'm working on something for the end of summer called "the summer round" but I'll talk about that later
Sunday- we headed off the the local beach, and if I'm honest I'm not the biggest fan of the beach for the simple reason, I hate sand sticking to me and then it's everywhere.. But I got over it and went and I'm so glad I did (:
We went on Padilos and a banana boat and spent ages in the sea! It just turned out to be an amazing day!
Then that night we went out for dinner and ended up back in the hotel bar for the night (:
Monday- we choose to go the the waterpark on Monday and seems as it was June and not many people were off school, the place wasn't busy. We could just walk up to most slides and go down them without lining up, which was pretty good!
While 11 of us were at the waterpark my grandad and dad went off to Barcelona for a day trip there. It suited them better as they didn't really want to come to the waterpark. Then just before we left we went and saw a dolphin show. After seeing the movie "black fish" I hate seeing animal (like whales) all in cages and forced to do things, but I have to admite the dolphin show was really good and you could see how each owner treated their own dolphin and it was just amazing.
Tuesday- this was our One bad day of the holiday. We were supposed to go to port aventura but then it started to rain. We waited to see if it would pass but then it ended up being a thunder storm. So we were stuck in the hotel for the day, we just stayed in the bar playing card games, listening to music, messing around and then we went up to get ready for dinner early. Once we were ready for dinner the rain had stopped and we went out.
Wednesday- the rain had stopped and we choose to go to the theme park (port aventura)
It was like walking into a small Disneyland! There was so much to do. The lines were so long but we got on as much as we could. I can't remember the name of it, but my favourite roller coaster would have to be this one that was so fast and twists upside down. As much as it scared the crap out of me, it was so fun We spent the whole day there and then when we got back to the hotel everyone just passed out from tiredness.

My cousin, sister and myself also found the indoor swimming pool which no one was in so we had a pool and Jacuzzi all to ourselves which was great fun.
Then that night was a special night for our grandad! We planned a surprise dinner party in one of the restaurants he loved and he really had no clue what was going on. We surprised him in the end and he was so happy, I can't even put it in words (: then the man who worked at the restaurant sent us over to a bar across the road to have a few drinks
(the cousins and my grandparents) after that we all headed back to the hotel and spent the rest of the night in the bar there. I did sadly have a panic attack that night and had to go to the hotel room early that night.

Then we went out for lunch in this american style diner and once we got back from lunch it was around 1pm, the bus picked us up at 2:30pm, we checked in by 3pm and then our flight was at 5pm and then we got on the plane and headed home. I'm not a great flier. I just don't like the idea of a big metal object being shot across the sky.. But anyway the flight over was grand, on the way back there was turbulence but it wasn't too bad, everyone was asleep, my sister listened to music and my mam and myself just watched "the sitter"
So that was basically my holiday, in it's simplest form! Lots more happened within each of those days but I didn't want to go into all the details.
Over all it was a great holiday and I would love to do something like that again in the future (:
